FRAN KIRBY is Women’s Footballer of the Year

Congratulations to Fran Kirby, who has won the FWA Women's Footballer of the Year award again, having been the inaugural winner of our award in 2018.

With 25 goals and 18 assists in all competitions so far, the 27-year-old has been brilliant for the newly crowned FAWSL champions and the partnerships she has formed, particularly with Australian striker Sam Kerr, have proven too hot-to-handle for defences both at home and across the continent.

Footballers of the Year Sterling and Parris

Raheem Sterling and Nikita Parris made it a win double for Manchester City and England as they collected their Footballer of the Year and Women's Footballer of the Year awards at our gala dinner on Thursday night.


The two strikers won the Football Writers' Association awards for their outstanding work on and off the pitch this season, and were presented with their honours by our new Chair Carrie Brown.

Footballer of the Year

Preparations are underway for our Footballer of the Year and Women's Footballer of the Year awards dinner, which will be held at the Landmark Hotel, London on Thursday May 9.
